郵政民営化法が衆院選で圧倒的多数の支持を得て可決されたのは､未だ記憶に新しいと思います｡これは間違いなく郵政民営化が国民から支持されている証ですが､その一方で､小泉政権が掲げる郵政民営化の具体像は未だ見えにくい｡民営化に賛同､反対を表明する識者による著書は多数ありますが､いずれも論じられているのは財政的な観点であり､民営化による産業面の具体的な変化を記した著書は少ないと思います｡その点で本書では､物流､金融等の主要産業や他国の動向を踏まえた郵政民営化のあり方が包括的に論じられており､関連する企業に勤める方には非常に有用だと思います｡
本書で強調されるポイントは2つあります｡1つは､異業種との結びつきに伴う産業形態の変化､もう1つは､国境を越えた企業間の競争や提携です｡産業間の垣根消失の象徴として､本書で最も注目すべきなのが､戦略物流事業です｡郵政公社と物流企業の提携によるメーカーの物流システムの構築など､郵便と物流が別物と考えられていた時代には考えられない変化です｡これはあらゆる産業で異分野の動向を踏まえることが必要とされている証であり､また産業形態が日々変化している現れと言えます｡こうした変化は､企業間の国際的な結びつきを伴ってこそ生じるものです｡フェデックスとラ･ポストの提携､ニュージーランドポストによる南米郵便事業の支援等を見る限り､少なくとも経済分野では､国家間の垣根が消失する方向にあるようです｡
三事業を分割するか否かを含めて､日本郵政公社の民営化後の姿は未だ不明瞭で､民営化に向けては無数の課題があります｡しかし､民営化がいかなる形になるにせよ､産業や企業の国内外の動向を踏まえた視点は絶対に欠かせません｡それを認識させてくれた点で､本書は従来の郵政関連の書籍には見られない貴重な1冊だといえます｡

Individual NPB teams, like their North American counterparts, do not normally open their books to the public, but this being the land of honne (one's real intention) and tatemae (official stance), ura (hidden meaning) and omote (surface), it is possible to make educated guesses about individual team finances. There are two teams that have historically done well. The Giants and Tigers both draw 3 million fans a year and each are estimated to take in somewhere in the neighborhood of 20 billion yen annually, the bulk of that in ticket sales and TV rights.But these clubs are also believed to donate their profits to their parent companies, the Yomiuri media conglomerate and (as of 2006) the Hankyu Railways, respectively. Most of the other NPB teams lose money.
